By acquiring a new language, people can not only come to respect differences, but also realize that they live in a small world. Although there are many positive aspects regarding acquiring a new language, not every person who attempts to learn a new language succeeds in obtaining the ability to effectively communicate for several reasons such as losing motivation and confidence towards learning, lack- ing an effective learning environments, and so forth. There is no doubt that teachers play a significant role in producing successful language communicators. Teachers are able to maintain and control students’ motivation towards studying both inside and outside the classroom, which certainly produces students’ confidence in their communication skills. In addition to the significant role of the teacher in the language learning process, students must also make an extensive effort to acquire a target language on their own. After careful consideration of the role of the instructor and learner in language development, we can come to the conclusion that effective lan- guage learning requires fruitful teaching and learner autonomy.

قاطبه ی نظریه پردازان بر این مهم اتفاق نظر دارند که درک مطلب یکی از مهمترین مهارت های زبانی چه در زبان اول وچه در زبان دوم می باشد. یکی از عوامل دخیل در درک مطلب و داشتن خوانش و قرائت مختلف از متون، درکنار عوامل زبانی همچون گرامر و لغت، طرحواره یا اسکیما می باشد. آنچه در پژوهش حاضر بررسی میشود ارائه ی نتایج اعتبار سنجی روشی برای سنجش طرحواره به همراه مروری بر پیشینه ی تاریخی آن معطوف روانشناسی شناختی و فلسفه می باشد. در این راستا، پس از بررسی پیشینه ی مربوطه، سی و چهار مولفه ی اولیه غربال شدند. متخصصان مرتبط با طرحواره و زبان دوم و شناخت تجشم یافته ، بیست و هشت آیتم برای محک در بوته ی آزمایش جهت سنجش بار عاملی را تایید کردند . به منظور تعیین روایی عاملی از روش آماری تحلییلی عاملی اکتشافی و سپس تأییدی و به منظور بررسی همسانی درونی از ضرایب آلفای کرونباخ استفاده شد. نتایج بدست آمده روشی دو عاملی (طرحواره ی محتوایی و طرحواره فرمال ) را نمایان کرد. درپایان ، نتایج بدست آمده و پیامدها و فواید پژوهش حاضر مورد بررسی قرار می گیرند.

در دنیای امـروز که ضرورت دانستن زبان انگلیسی برای انجام تعاملات بین فرهنگی امری غیرقابل انکار است، آموزش و یادگیری زبان انگلیسی باید همـراه بـا درنظر گرفتن ارزشهـای فرهنگ خودی باشد که در سایۀ توجه بیشتر به هویت ملی و فرهنگی زبانآموزان امکان پذیر است. از آنجایی که در فرآیند یادگیری زبان انگلیسی، بخش عظیمی از مفاهیم و الگوهای فرهنگی نیز به صورت آگاهانه یا ناآگاهانه به زبانآموزان منتقل میشوند، نباید از توجه به تأثیر انتقال اطلاعات میانفرهنگی بر نگرش و هویت فراگیران غافل شد. با توجه به جایگاه کنونی زبان انگلیسی به عنوان زبان بینالمللی، انتظار میرود که منابع درسی تدوین شده نیز بتوانند چندفرهنگی بودن و تهی بودن این زبان از ارزشهای فرهنگی کشورهای انگلیسیزبان را منعکس کنند. بنابراین، هدف پژوهش حاضر بررسی میزان به کارگیری فرهنگهای غیر بومی در کتابهای آموزشی زبان انگلیسی در رابطه با جایگاه زبان انگلیسی به عنوان زبان بین المللی است. بدین منظور، مدل فرهنگی یواِن (2011) که شامل چهار مؤلفۀ محصولات، اعمال، نگرشها و اشخاص است مورد استفاده قرار گرفت و میزان وقوع هر یک از این مؤلفههای فرهنگی در کتاب دستورزبان Communicate What You Mean: A Concise Advanced Grammar، که کاربرد گسترده بینالمللی در حوزۀ آموزش زبان انگلیسی به غیر انگلیسیزبانان در مقطع دانشگاهی دارد، مورد بررسی قرار گرفت. یافتهها به وضوح نشان دادند که این کتاب به ارزشهای فرهنگی بومی کشورهای انگلیسیزبان ارجحیت داده و از توجه به ارزشهای فرهنگی سایر ملل غافل مانده است. این امر حاکی از وجود گرایشها و تعصبهای یک سویعهای است که ریشه در فرهنگ غرب دارند و نشان میدهند که زبان انگلیسی،علی رغم جایگاه کنونی خود به عنوان یک زبان بینالمللی، هم چنان در حال ترویج یک جانبۀ نگرشها و عقیدههای غربی به زبانآموزان سراسر جهان است.

From a linguistic perspective, one of the most challenging aspects of writing is sentence construction. While some sentences are made up of only a single clause, to be more effective in writing, authors often need to combine clauses together to make longer sentences, with the ultimate aim of writing a composition or a coherent text.Taking a terminological approach, the present study made an attempt to scrutinize a total of 23 grammatical terms often used to teach clauses in writing classes. For this purpose, a corpus of 14 grammar books was developed, and all the 23 terms were looked up and counted in the corpus. In addition, a test of grammatical terminology, made of the same target terms, was administered to 72 BA students of English language and literature at ShahidBeheshti University.Based on the frequency of the terms in the corpus (frequency counts), the results of the terminology test (student familiarity factor), and the analysis of the qualitative data obtained from both the meaning/usage of the terms and the interviews with students, the researchers came up with a modified network of grammatical terms used for teaching clauses, which, if used consistently, could minimize ambiguities and confusions over clause-related terms in ESL/EFL writing instruction.
