- A step by step guide for submitting articles is available after you log in.
- CLLS accepts original, research articles written in academic Persian or English. Submissions should be between 6000-6500 words. References and citations must adhere to the guidelines available in the latest edition of Chicago citation handbook.
- CLLS follows Chicago "In-text citation and References" citation style. Footnotes, therefore, should not contain references or citations.
- Plagiarism as explained here is an unethical act, unacceptable, and must be avoided.
- Authors whose work includes plagiarism will be blacklisted and banned for minimum 2 years.
- Authors hold the rights to share and reuse aspects, findings, sections of their articles published with CLLS as long as they cite the article properly.
- All authors are required to use their academic email address, and provide a link to their ORCID profile while submitting their essay.
Submission Checklist
As part of the submission process, authors are required to check their submission for the following items:
- The submission has not been previously published; nor is it being considered for publication elsewhere;
- The submission file is in OpenOffice, or Microsoft Word format, and should uploaded together with the following forms: Authorship Committment and Conflict of Interest (see bottom of the page).
- Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
- The text is double-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
- Acknowlegment: the following are mandatory, and should appear at the end of the article before REFERENCES:
- Funding: explaining whether the researcher received any funding support that pertains to the formation of the artcle.
- Authors’ Contribution (for articles with two or more authors): percentage of contribution should be mentioned.
- Conflict of Interests: explain the possible conflict of interest. If none exists, please mention it.
Please format your article by following this step by step guide:
Structure
The title of your work in no more than 15 words, in 13 Bold Times New Roman, center-aligned; sub-titles follow the main title, if at all.
- Author(s) and affiliation(s)
The author name(s) should appear in 12-point Times New Roman, center aligned.
Affiliations follow the authors and appear in the same font as authors' description.
Abstract should be no more than 250 words and in font 12 Times New Roman.
You should introduce 5-7 keywords that best describe your work, its achievements and findings.
The following headings must be carefully observed in the body of the essay:
- Introduction
- Review of Literature
- Approach and Methodology
- Discussion (or Analysis)
- Conclusion
- Acknowledgements of funding support (Please write 'None' if you didn't receive any support from your institute to conduct this research.)
- Authors contribution (if more than one author)
- Conflict of Interest (Please write 'None' if there were no conflict of interest at the time of conducting/writing this research.)
- References: Chicago citation style
Each section must be written in 12-point Times New Roman font. The opening lines of paragraphs, except the ones following headings/subheadings, should be indented one tab - don't use spaces. Sub-headings should be in 12-point Bold Times New Roman. No spaces between paragraphs. There should be sub-headings for each new argument, which means signposting is necessary
No Endnote; only footnotes. They should appear in 10 Times New Roman on each page with a running number.
- Acknowledging funding citation
This is where authors are required to acknowledge any sources (funding or otherwise); it should appear in boldface 12-point Times New Roman.
- Authors’ Contribution (for articles with two or more authors): percentage of contribution should be mentioned.
- Conflict of Interests: explain the possible conflict of interest. If none exists, please mention it.
