The way the narrator and characters in the selected novel cope with the 9/11 attack displays the cleft Festinger refers to as the cognitive dissonance as a distasteful condition led by the awareness of inconsistencies between beliefs, attitudes, or actions. However, People inherently aspire to the consistency, so they are impelled to reduce the dissonance between what actually occurred and what has been manipulated. While through the narrations, the narrators symbolically act as history-tellers reflecting the 9/11 era, the reliability or unreliability of what they narrate should be socio-culturally investigated. Based on Festinger’s theory of ‘cognitive dissonance’ and Elaine Auyoung’s idea on ‘huge cognitive leaps’, the cognition of a person changes and adapts itself to sociocultural settings and events. So any narration is prone to subjectivity and subsequently not necessarily reliable.  Consequently what happens through the cognitive manipulation is meaning construction that makes narrations of cultural traumas unreliable. Thus, McEwan’s aesthetic representation of the 9/11 trauma makes the reader encounter an unreliable version of a cultural trauma, connoting the fact that the borderline between fact and traumatic fabrications is hard to distinguish due to cognitive manipulations. }, keywords = {9/11 attack,cognitive dissonance,cognitive leap,unreliable narration,cultural trauma}, title_fa = {ناسازگاری شناختی و جهش عظیم شناختی در رمانِ شنبه اثر ایان مک ایوان : بازسازی ترومای یازده سپتامبر}, abstract_fa = { بررسی روانشناختی-فرهنگیِ حملۀ یازده سپتامبر و ترومای مرتبط با آن که در رمانِ شنبه اثر ایان مک ایوان 1 انعکاس یافته است، ساختارهای دستکاری‌شدۀ شناخت و هویت فرهنگی را آشکار می‌کند و نشان  می‌دهد که راویان غیر‌موثق در این روایت چگونه با دستکاری شناختیِ حادثۀ یازده سپتامبر ترومایی اجتماعی-فرهنگی را می‌سازند و از این طریق باعث ایجاد ناسازگاری شناختی می‌شوند. روایت راوی و شخصیت‌ها در این رمان از حادثۀ یازده سپتامبر خلائی را می نمایاند که فستینگر  آن را ناسازگاری شناختی  می‌نامد، یعنی شرایطی که در آن فرد متوجه می‌شود بین باورها و رفتارهایش ناسازگاری وجود دارد. اما، مردم ذاتا خواهان سازگاری هستند، بنابراین تحریک می‌شوند تا  ناسازگاری بین آنچه در واقع رخ داده و آنچه دستکاری شده است را کاهش دهند. گرچه راویان در این  روایت به صورت نمادین نقش بازگوئی تاریخ‌ را ایفا می‌کنند تا یازده سپتامبر را انعکاس ‌دهند، اعتبار یا عدم اعتبار آنچه روایت می‌کنند باید از نظر اجتماعی-فرهنگی بررسی شود. طبق نظریۀ «ناسازگاری شناختیِ» فستینگر و ایدۀ «جهش‌های شناختیِ بسیار بزرگ » که الن اویانگ  مطرح می‌کند، شناخت در افراد تغییر می‌کند و خود را با محیط‌های اجتماعی-فرهنگی و رویدادها وفق می‌دهد. از این رو هر روایتی مستعدِ ذهن‌گرایی است. در نتیجه، دستکاری شناختی  باعثِ معناسازی می‌شود و  روایت‌هایی را که از تروماهای فرهنگی ساخته می‌شود غیر قابل اعتماد می‌سازد. بنابراین، بازنمود زیبا‌شناختی‌ای که مک ایوان از ترومای یازده سپتامبر ارائه می‌کند نسخه‌ای غیر قابل اعتماد از ترومایی فرهنگی پیش روی خواننده قرار می‌دهد که نشان می‌دهد به علتِ دستکاری‌های شناختی نمی‌توان به درستی  مزر بین حقیقت و سازه‌های تروماتیک را از هم تشخیص داد.}, keywords_fa = {حملۀ یازده سپتامبر,ناسازگاری شناختی,جهش شناختی,راوی غیر موثق,ترومای فرهنگی}, url = {https://clls.sbu.ac.ir/article_100894.html}, eprint = {https://clls.sbu.ac.ir/article_100894_22ba0eb378e8947c6d12b20d5ad8381d.pdf} }
