Closely referring to Jean Baudrillard’s critical concepts, the present research contends that the fictional characters of Bret Easton Ellis, particularly in American Psycho, are prone to this postmodern world, where all experience via consumption has become fathomless, and traditional notions of identity have been changed. Ellis’ characters oscillate between the extreme poles of violence and ennui as they do their best to prevent their psyches from collapse amidst the surrounding turmoil caused by excessive consumption. Neither one of these alternatives results in any relief. In this type of literature, the protagonists are immersed in the contemporary world of consumption and the mass media. In fact, primary interest here is on the effects of this immersion in the world of commodities on the major characters, and their reactions in the selected novel. Accordingly, dependence on possessions by the characters of the novel in order to isolate themselves from the threatening disorder of the post-modern world is the major concern of present study of the novel.}, keywords = {Consumption- Media- Baudrillard- Identity- Bret Easton Ellis- Blank Fiction}, title_fa = {بازتاب مصرف و رسانه در رمان پسامدرن آمریکا: خوانشی نقادانه از روانی آمریکایی برت ایستن اِلیس}, abstract_fa = { امروزه مصرف به ویژگی مهمی برای فهم جامعه پسا‌مدرن بدل شده است؛ به طوری که از زوایای مختلف قابل بحث و بررسی است. اگر چه نگرش اولیه به مصرف، صرفاً اقتصادی بوده، اما اندیشمندان قرن بیستم، بیش از همه بر شکل فرهنگی مصرف تاکید کرده، و مصرف فرهنگی را شاخص‌ترین مسئله جامعه معاصر دانسته‌اند. مصرف و رسانه سبک زندگی ما را شکل داده، نیازها و تمایلات ما را جهت‌دهی کرده و مواد لازم برای تولید تخیلات و رویاهای ما را فراهم می‌کنند. پژوهش حاضر مفاهیم مصرف و رسانه را به تفصیل در رمان‌ روانی آمریکایی اثر برت ایستن اِلیس از منظر آرا و آموزه‌های ژان بودریار بررسی می‌کند. در رمان پسامدرن آمریکا به‌ویژه در نویسندگانی نظیر اِلیس، خواننده با مفاهیم غالبی همچون مصرف و رسانه مواجه می‌شود. در این تحقیق هدف پژوهشگر تحلیل تاثیرات ناشی از مصرف و رسانه بر روی شخصیت‌های اصلی رمان‌ روانی آمریکایی و واکنش متقابل شخصیت‌ها در قبال مصرف و رسانه است. در آثار اِلیس، جامعه پسا‌مدرن آمریکا، جامعه‌ای سطحی و نمایش‌گونه قلمداد می‌گردد که افراد انسانی در آن مصرف‌کنندگانی صرف هستند که با تقلید از فرهنگ القایی رسانه‌ها به تقلید از یکدیگر پرداخته و از نظر ذهنی، احساسی و اخلاقی رو به زوال می‌روند. در این رمان، کنش‌های شخصیت اصلی رمان بر مبنای حوادثی است که در رسانه‌های جمعی شاهد آن بوده است. تکیه کلام او این است: مصرف می‌کنم، پس هستم. تاثیر رسانه و مصرف را حتی در ضرب‌آهنگ روایی روانی آمریکایی نیز می‌توان مشاهده نمود.                                                                                                                                                                                               }, keywords_fa = {}, url = {https://clls.sbu.ac.ir/article_99996.html}, eprint = {https://clls.sbu.ac.ir/article_99996_c9c123776b5b73b2caacf040a4a224d4.pdf} }
